With mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine throughout the year, it is more than perfect for holidaying. January sees large scale celebrations of the New Year’s Day with colorful decorations and spectacular fireworks display across the city along with hot parties. To get all the restaurants and cafes under one roof, head to Europa centre which is just a stone throw away from many hotels in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico has a subtropical climate with pleasant and warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, even during winter months. January is one of the coldest months in this holiday resort and while you are here expect to see daily highs of 20 degrees Celsius and lows of 14 degrees Celsius by evenings. It gets a little chilly during nights. However, the days are pleasantly warm with up to 9 hours of sunshine per day.

What to Wear and How to Pack for Puerto Rico in January?

Puerto Rico is a lively city and proudly flaunts bright and bold colors. Here are some packing suggestions:

Women – Never mind if it is January, it won’t be chilly as hell! The days are mild and warm it is only the evenings that make you wonder if you travelled you some other place just in a day. Pack your own chic tops and jeans or shorts. Skirts and half-sleeved blouses work very well and you can go for knee-length shorts and tank tops too but only during the day. You can also opt for colored denims and neutral hued blouses and tops to go with them. For the evenings, stick to layers of cardigans and heavy jackets.

Men – For the warm days, you can opt for lighter clothes such as go casual by the way with polo-neck t-shirts and Bermuda shorts. Chinos will look good with full-sleeve shirts or polo-necks. You can also go for semi formal shirts and trousers. Collared button-down shirts can be paired with formal trousers and jeans. And, when the sun sets down, cover up with a hooded jacket or a blazer or stick to a heavyweight sweater.

Kids – Pack skirts and tops for your girl. You can also opt for shorts and tops or t-shirts and shorts. Jeans and shirts can also be packed along with rompers or jumpers. Boys can go for jeans and shirts or t-shirts and shorts. Also pack warm sweaters, hoodies and jackets.

Footwear – Stick to comfy tried pair of shoes. Trainers with socks or go for boots. Plenty of styles and types here!

Accessories – You will not need much except the usual like sunscreen, sunglasses and bags. As rains can still be expected, do carry a raincoat or an umbrella.
