August is one of the hottest months in Puerto Rico when temperatures touch the 26 degree Celsius mark while evenings see only a slight relief. This is also a great time to hit the beach and enjoy various outdoor activities and enjoy water pursuits.

What to Wear and How to Pack for Puerto Rico in August?

You will find that people of Puerto Rico are boisterous but laid-back, and that can be seen in the way they dress. You can go casual in the city and no one will blink an eye. The only thing to be kept in mind is the weather. Here are some suggestions:

Women – Temperatures are soaring, so think of cotton and linen only. Khaki shorts and linen pants would be your best against hot weather here. Keep cotton tank-tops and skirts in neutral colors and breathable fabrics. Remember to pack lightweight and light-colored clothing. For partying, you can keep a sundress, a cocktail dress or pantsuit along with appropriate accessories.

Men – You can pack half-sleeve T-shirts or cotton vests along with khaki shorts and linen pants. Pack lightweight clothes in neutral shades. For a slightly formal touch, you can go for collared shirts along with the pants.

Kids – Pack light for your kids, too, like cotton shirts and T-shirts. You can go for skirts in neutral shades and lightweight fabric and same goes for shorts, too. You can also go for jumpsuits or pantsuits for a slightly formal touch and sundresses in small sizes.

Footwear – Be nice to your shoes and pack hiking shoes or sneakers if you plan to go for outdoor activities. Formal wear would require deck shoes for men and heels for ladies. For casual strolling and sightseeing, you can go for flip-flops, flats, and loafers.

Accessories – A sunscreen, trendy pair of sunglasses, and a nice hat will definitely be required. Keep an umbrella, too!
