August is summer month in Prague and there are still tourists left in the city. This is, in fact, one of three warmest months of Prague and is a popular time to visit. There is a lot to do and see in August, such as its festival of Italian Operas (formerly known as Verdi Festival) and a lot of sightseeing, too. The only thing you have to worry about is packing your clothes and stuff to match up with people there. However, that wouldn’t be so difficult if you know what to wear in Prague in August.
Weather of Prague in August
August is the last warm month of Prague, so you can see a decrease in rainfall. The temperature varies between 73 to 53 degrees F. You can still find it crowded with tourists, so advanced bookings at certain places would be advised.
What to Wear in Prague?
Though summer is relatively warm in Prague, you still need to carry sweaters and jackets in case a sudden downpour makes the air chilly. A pair of closed-toe shoes is must to roam in the streets without torturing your feet.
Women – The weather of Prague in August is a treat, not just for your eyes and soul, but also for your wardrobe. This is the time to bring sexy out! The perfect dress for the amazing weather would be a Broderie Anaglase – a dress that has summer written all over it and complete with lace, cutwork and embroidery, it has a very casual yet outdoorsy field. You can also take t-shirts and a pair of shorts for total casual. Take a light sweater or shawl for ‘just in case’.
Men – Guys, you don’t have to lag behind in terms of style and comfort. You can pair up a fitted shirt and trouser and wear a chesterfield coat over it. Totally dapper! For casual outings you can stick to t-shirts or full-sleeve shirts with khaki cropped pants or trousers otherwise shorts or denims.
Kids – Make your little girls stand out in the crowd with little sundresses and leggings along with floral or neutral hued skirts. Boys can go for Henley t-shirts; it is the next best thing to being shirtless. Shorts and t-shirts are of course viable options, too.
Footwear – Well, you will need something to go along with your uber sexy dresses and walking in heels would be a torture for your feet. What now? Flatforms – flats that are also platforms with a leveled sole without any arches! These will not let you fall flat on your face but you’ll be stomping all over the place. Apart from that, gladiators are good choice, too. Guys can go for sneakers or a pair of black formal shoes.
Accessories – A nice neck piece to compliment the dress; a side-bag to carry stuff like sunblock and a glam pair of sunglasses; a colorful scarf to compliment your dress or take one that goes along with all – will all be fine. A hat or fedora is all you need more and you are ready to take on the streets.
