What to Wear and How to Pack for Hong Kong in October?

People dress up nicely and smartly in Hong Kong and you can easily blend in if you follow the suggestions given below.

Women – HK is a metropolitan city but not open and airy like Paris but rather like NYC. So, you have to dress with the élan and sophistications of one such city while keeping the comfort and weather in mind. The weather is ideal for full-sleeve blouses and cotton or linen pants. You can go for jeans, too. Keep shorts, skirts, and tank-tops for beaches. Do carry a light jacket as the city has frigid ACs in malls and buses.

Men – Smart casual is the rule here. You can go for polo shirts and Bermuda shorts or full-length cotton pants. You can also go for collared t-shirts and jeans along with a casual leather jacket. For a little nicer place, you will need a collared shirt, trousers, and a tie complete with jacket or a blazer.

Kids – You can pack t-shirts and jeans or Bermuda shorts for boys. Girls can go for shorts, skirts and full-sleeve tops and blouses. You can also pack tunics along with leggings which can be layered with shrugs or light jackets.

Footwear – Carry trainers or sneakers if you plan to stay outdoors for most of the time, as they will save your feet from all the dirty sidewalks. Flats or espadrilles can also be packed. Also pack a pair of leather shoes for men and heels for women.

Accessories – Carry a small bag in which you can keep your important stuff, a backpack would be perfect. Also pack a stylish pair of sunglasses, an umbrella, and a sunscreen.
