Here is what you should know about what to wear in Dubai in October.

Due to its hot and dry desert, it is never cold in Dubai, even in approaching winter months. October, however, sees a drop in temperatures (ranging between 22 to 35 degrees Celsius) but it is still hot when you compare it with other cities. The weather during October is hot and dry with practically no precipitation.

What to Wear and How to Pack for in Dubai in October?

Just like any other Islamic state, Dubai, too, follows a modest dressing code but not as strictly as other Emirates. However, it is always better to dress in a decent matter, just to be on a safer side. Here are some suggestions:

Women – The dressing rules apply especially to ladies here! As a rule of thumb, don’t pack short dresses for Dubai. Shorts that are above knees are not to be worn in public. You can wear shorts and tank-tops at the beach, though, or even a bikini, if you wish! For sightseeing and other purposes, you can go for t-shirts and capris or three-fourth trousers and cotton tops. You can pack dresses for restaurants and nightclubs. Carrying a pashmina is also a good idea as it will help you cover your shoulders as and when required.

Men – You might be tempted to wear shorts and vests in streets, but don’t commit such blunders as it will make you stick out. Such attire is suitable for beaches only. If you still want to stick with shorts, you can go for knee-length Bermuda shorts or capris and half-sleeve t-shirts. You can also go for cotton shirts and trousers for a formal appearance. If smart casual is what you prefer, go for chinos and polo-neck t-shirts.

Kids – Even though it is a desert, packing full-sleeve clothes is a smart idea as the sun here is very unforgiving and a few minutes out in the sun can make you realize that, so pack full-sleeve shirts or tops along with capris, Bermuda shorts or cotton skirts. Jumpers can also be packed. Tunics along with leggings will also work.

Footwear – No matter where you go, a comfortable pair of shoes goes along with you, so pack comfy shoes for your Dubai trip, too. You can go for flat ballets or platforms, and if you prefer a little trendier stuff, go for espadrilles. Flip-flops are perfect for the beach.

Accessories – A scarf or a pashmina is a versatile piece of clothing you need to have while in Dubai. Also pack a good sunscreen with a high SPF and wide-brim hats.
