What to Wear and How to Pack for Amsterdam in November?
November weather can be mild and then turn cold all of a sudden, so the best way would be to be prepared for either case. Here are some suggestions:
Women – Layering would be your best bet in November as the weather is very changeable. You can pack some warm t-shirts and blouses to wear inside sweaters and jackets. Warm slacks and leggings will also work well; you can also go for skinny jeans in dark colors. Pack some lightweight sweaters or cardigans to layer your outfits with heavier ones so that when it is mild again you can take off the heavier ones. Heavy jackets or fleece and woolen sweaters can also be packed. A trench coat or an overcoat will also be required. Do carry a windbreaker jacket.
Men – Layer your clothes with warm thermals underneath and then wear a full-sleeve shirt or t-shirt over it. On warmer days, you can just add another layer of a lightweight jacket or a sweater over it but on other days you will need heavier clothing. You can pack a heavy sweater or jacket or a blazer that goes well with jeans and trousers both. A windbreaker or a waterproof jacket will also be required.
Kids – Pack everything mild and heavy for your kids like jackets and sweaters along with warm t-shirts, shirts and jeans or slacks.
Footwear – You can opt for boots or ankle booties that are suitable for weather and go with most of your outfits. Closed-toe shoes would be better than any other kind in November. As it is quite wet too, you can pack a pair of gum boots.
Accessories – Pack scarves, hats, gloves and an umbrella for November weather.
